As a seamstress, I like to read BeSewStylish, a sewing blog, but today they crossed over into my domain. They posted today about using your computer monitor as a light box in order to easily trace patterns. Now if you have a CRT (old big huge monitor), this isn’t a horrible idea. Just watch out so you don’t draw on your screen. If you have an LCD though, DO NOT DO THIS. It is far too easy to puncture/damage your LCD. It’s a better idea to just never touch the LCD screen.

I did hear recently that windows (during the day only of course) work well as an alternative to expensive light boxes though.
