Lent

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

It’s that time of the year again where I figure out what to give up for lent. I’ve had a hard time of this ever since the notorious chocolate year. I can’t think of anything as hard to give up as chocolate ever and yet I’ve proven that giving up chocolate is a very BAD idea. So I am now open to suggestions to give something up without suffering injuries preferably.

What to Give Up for Lent

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006

Every year now I debate over what to give up for lent. 2 years ago it was chocolate. That didn’t turn out so hot though. I gave up baby stores last year for lent. Which was a bit lame, although good for the pocket book.

So this year I was thinking of giving up M&Ms. I figure that I can still replace it with other chocolate so I won’t crack my skull. Plus, I have this jar of M&Ms in my office that I would have to leave there (for Serina). It’s not like it would be out of sight out of mind. Mark doesn’t like the idea though. He says why test the whole no skull fracture thing.

The annual ‘what to give up for lent’ poll is open. (No, I will not turn off moderation of comments!)

Lent

Tuesday, February 8th, 2005

With Lent starting tomorrow and being the good Lutheran I am, I have been thinking about what to give up this year. Last year, as many of you know, I gave up my ultimate sacrifice – chocolate – and nearly killed myself, literally. So this year I’m definently NOT giving up chocolate. Basically, I’m avoiding giving up anything in the food nature, but I’m now open to suggestions for what to give up. I was thinking the Target baby section would be a good idea, or perhaps ALL baby sections of any stores. Leave a suggestion in my comments!

It’s Over

Sunday, April 11th, 2004

Well, I made it. After spending Saturday at Oakbrook mall walking through Marshall Field’s which was covered in their chocolate and then walking past the Godova store, I was feeling pretty anxious to eat chocolate. At my Grandma’s last night, she had made Scotcheroos but left one square without chocolate just for me. And then when I woke up, we all had toast with homemade strawberry jam and hot chocolate for breakfast. I feel very satisfied now. And I heard a rumor that I’m getting some M&M’s tomorrow night!!!!!! Those are my favorite.

Success and I’m never doing this again!

3 Days Left

Wednesday, April 7th, 2004

Only 3 days left and I already have it planned exactly what I’m having Sunday morning. I will be waking up at my Grandma’s house. So I’m having my traditional breakfast of toast and jam with hot cocoa. No breakfast would be complete at her house without the hot cocoa.
I believe this will solve all the problems with my health too (I can imagine, right?).
